Simko Tool Company is a design and manufacturing company located in Central Vermont. It is a one man operation started by Cal Simko.

STC was born from the exploration of scaling down large industrial processes to produce well designed tools. New England has deep roots in manufacturing, and I take pride in continuing that tradition.

I believe that a critical understanding of materials and manufacturing informs good design decisions. That comes from working with your hands.

Material properties strongly influence my design decisions. This same philosophy guides my selection of manufacturing processes to produce my products. There is great honesty in modifying existing material that we don’t find in many additive or subtractive manufacturing processes. I like to start by folding paper, and end with bending steel.

I look to minimal viable design to create honest and reliable products. Less is more.
